Elet Hall

Founder/Mountain Operations

Elet lives and works in the mountains year round. In the winters he is responsible for the logistics, planning, snowcat/mobile maintenance and local relations that allow Turkish Backcountry to run. Dont be surpised if he’s covered in motor oil or smells a bit like gasoline, hes just making sure everything is running smoothly! He has over 15 years of mountain operations experience in Utah, Vermont and Pennsylvania.

In the off-season he is an Outdoor Educator and has worked all over the USA and several other countries around globe teaching skills ranging from wilderness survival, backcountry navigation, first aid, and rope skills.

Ian Hall

Head Guide

Ian is our Head Guide and boasts over a decade of experience in ski patrol and guiding. After studying Adventure Sports Management at Garret College Ian moved to Park City, Utah and began exploring the Wasatch backcountry. A calm and understated personality he will probably tell you “Im not a very good teacher” before proceeding to give you an incredible lesson on perfecting your powder turn. He was a Professional Ski Patroller at Park City Mountain Resort, guide/snowsafety with Park City Powdercats and is current Head guide at Turkish Backcountry. He is a current member of the National Ski Patrol.

Ercan Kesti

Guide

Ercan grew up in Camlihemsin, a village in the heart of the Kaçkar mountains. With such an incredible mountain range on his literal doorstep his love for the mountains began at an early age. He is a certified mountaineering guide through the Turkish Mountaineering Federation (TDF) and 2x Turkish Ice Climbing Champion. He has summited many of Turkeys highest peaks. He is currently exploring the mountains of Switzerland.
